UNION  WORKHOUSES  -  SONGSTERS

In 1908 - 1909 George Gardiner came to collect songs in the south-eastern corner of Hampshire and across the border into West Sussex.

In the Westbourne Union Workhouse four people gave him 7 songs:


George Crawford gave him two songs,
William Bridger one song,
James Smith two songs
William Bloxel two songs
