On a summer's evening when the tide would be up we would cycle to Emsworth for a swim. Although we would often spend time diving in the Slipper Mill Pond another was to swim out to some marooned fishing hulks on the old oyster beds, clamber aboard and sunbathe on the wooden deck. A memento of those happy days is a large scar in my foot from broken glass.
