A family walk on a Sunday evening was often to a pub at Rowlands Castle or Langstone Harbour. This journey started by bus from the Cricketers Inn to Emsworth Railway Station. Down the roads to the follow the Mill Pond and along the foreshore with views over to Hayling Island. The journey took us past Warblington Church of St Thomas à Becket cemetery where now my mother's parents and my parents are buried. The Black Mill was then our signpost for The Royal Oak nearby.
