The Village centre where to celebrate VE day a huge bonfire was lit in the square and a happy time was had by all. My first journey as an apprentice in Portsmouth Dockyard started here at 06:00 on a cold, dark January 1951 morning to catch a bus from The White Horse to Emsworth station.
